Tragic Fire Destroys Mott Home

Donation protected

Imagine waking up from a nap – maybe even from a wonderful dream – to the smell of smoke. You crawl out of bed, look out your second-floor window, to find the side of your house engulfed in flames. You’re first thought is it real or are you just imagining it; and then you realize it’s not only real but you need to get out of the house NOW.

Many of you reading this know this is not a story, but the real-life trauma experienced by our friends Bobby, Monica, Abby and Olivia Mott; who on Monday May 22nd lost everything they own except for the clothes on their back to a horrific fire that went on a rampage through their home of 17 years.

As I sit here to write this, I can’t even imagine the sadness, anger, frustration, and absolute overwhelming feeling of devastation and loss they must feel. But I also know they are eternally grateful that everyone made it out of the house safe and in one piece. That their animals are safe and that they can all hug one another and cling to the fact that while they lost the “things” in their home they will face this tragedy with their loved ones around them.

Throughout the day, friends and neighbors stopped by asking “what can we do to help” myself included; after a great deal of conversation and debate they are allowing us to establish a Go Fund Me account to help them through this difficult time. This is a family who would never ask for help, but is always willing to give it. As such, please consider helping this family rebuild and replace even the most basic items things we take for granted, like toothbrushes, under garments, shirts, shoes, tooth paste, deodorant, not to mention things like laptops, computers, phones, chargers, etc.

Just imagine waking up tomorrow morning and wondering where to start and not having even the simplest thing as a toothbrush.
We love you Bobby, Monica, Abby, and Olivia and we are here to help. Please share with others.
