Tragic death leaves family in holiday bind

The unexpected, tragic passing away of Derek Smith has left his family in financial need during these trying times.  This fund has been created on behalf of his family , and his mom Tina Smith.  Derek just turned 27 years old on October 3rd. Derek has an older sister Lisa, and a younger sister Kyrstin. He loved his family and friends dearly,  was always there to lend a helping hand where he could.  He enjoyed helping his grandma with her yard work,  playing baseball, sitting next to a warm fire, eating burgers, cruising around in his car listening to music, watching movies, trips to the river and the Oregon coast. Derek was a homebody and enjoyed the simple things in life.
The day after Thanksgiving he was hospitalized. He had no liver or kidney function, his gallbladder was damaged, jaundice from head to toe, and he has a blood infection. Due to the severity of the damage of his organs, he was placed into hospice a few days into his hospital stay.
His mom Tina Smith has been his daily caretaker inside the hospital, and now in hospice. She is a single mom, has had to miss work to care for her son, and she has used all of her vacation time/sick time caring for her son. We’re asking for help to pay for the costs of cremation.  We’re also asking for donations to help cover the time off  his mother, Tina, has had to take, to help give her peace of mind from the bills she has piling up.
