My son had a tragic climbing accident. Please help!
Hi, My name is Danielle Bodnar and I am fundraising on behalf of my son, Sean Walsh. He was climbing in Indian Creek, Utah when his next hand hold crumbled and 3 of his clamps broke free from the side of the mountain. He fell approximately 30 ft. He was airlifted to St. Mary’s Hospital, in Grand Junction, Colorado, where he spent 5 days in the ICU. And 8 days total in the Hospital. He now needs 24 hour care due to his injuries and medications. He has a Traumatic Brain Injury and a broken sacrum, and we are still a long way from home. He lives in Nashville and I live in Florida, but the accident happened out West and we are stuck out here for the time being, 4 weeks so far, as he has not been cleared for travel. We don’t know when that will be. And even when he is well enough to travel he may need full time care for quite some time. Recovering from a Traumatic Brain Injury is a lot more complicated than any of us had expected.
Please help relieve his burden just a bit, if you possibly can. Any amount will help and be greatly appreciated. His medical bills are going to be outrageous. Airlift, ER, 5 days ICU, 8 days hospital, and continuing care, including Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber Therapy, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Speech Therapy. And eventually, hopefully, a flight back home, wherever that may be.
Again, please help if you can. Any amount is appreciated.
Prayers and healing thoughts also appreciated and greatly needed. Thank you all.
Please share if you can! Thank you!
