Our family is facing the most heartbreaking tragedy we have ever experienced.
We were all supposed to be enjoying a family holiday together. My parents, auntie, uncle, grandmother, and grandfather were traveling on a seven-hour bus journey, excited to reach their destination and spend time together as a family.
Just five minutes before arriving, everything changed forever.
The bus driver reportedly fell asleep at the wheel and crashed into the back of a lorry. In a matter of seconds, our family’s lives were turned upside down.
Tragically, my grandfather lost his life in the accident.
At the same time, my grandmother suffered devastating injuries and is now in critical condition, fighting for her life in hospital. She has both hips broken, a broken vertebra, a severely fractured leg, a badly fractured arm, and serious lung complications. She urgently needs multiple surgeries and extensive medical treatment.
While the rest of our family survived with minor injuries, the emotional pain and trauma we are all experiencing is unimaginable. We are grieving the sudden loss of our grandfather while desperately hoping and praying for our grandmother to survive and recover.
We are creating this fundraiser to help cover:
* funeral and memorial expenses for our grandfather
* emergency surgeries and medical treatment for our grandmother
* hospital, rehabilitation, and recovery costs
* travel and emergency family expenses during this devastating time
