Water Well for Tragic Tigray Crash

On August, 10, 2018 a bus tragically flipped over a cliff while traveling from Mekele, Tigray to Shire and took the lives of 12 people, most coming from the same family. Of those that died two were sisters from Canada who just like myself and my sister were visiting Ethiopia for the summer and were due to return back to their home country soon. This tragic accident struck the entire city of Mekele and left us all heavy hearted. 

I'm creating this fundraiser to raise money in the name of the victims so that their legacy can live on, and so we can build a water well in their name as an ongoing charity that will honor and continue their legacy on this earth. Being in Ethiopia this past summer I saw firsthand how valuable readily available water was, and building a well would help a lot of people who don't have access to this basic life necessity. ነሃሴ 5፣ 2010 ላይ ከመቀለ ወደ ሽሬ ለሰርግ ስነ ስርዓት ሲጓዝ የነበረ ሚኒባስ ተገልብጦ በጊዜው 12 ሰዎች ህይወታቸውን አጥቷል። ከነዚህ ውስጥ አብዛኛዎቹ የአንድ ቤተሰብ አባላት በመሆናቸው ሃዘኑን እጅግ ከባድ ያደረገዋል። ከነዚህም ሟቾች ውስጥ ከካናዳ ለሰርጉ የታደሙ ሁለት እህትማማቾች ልክ እንደኔና እህቴ በክረምቱ እረፍት ወደ ኢትዮጵያ መጥተው ወዲያው ለመመለስ ያቀዱ ነበሩ። ይህ አሰቃቂ አደጋ የመቀለ ነዋሪዎችን እጅግ ያስደነገጠና ያሳዘነ ክስተት ሆኖ አልፏል።
ይህን የገንዘብ ማሰባሰብያ ፕሮግራም ለመጀመር ያነሳሳኝ ዋና ምክንያት የአደጋው ሰለባዎችን ለማስታወስ እንዲሁም በስማቸው የውሃ ጉድጓድ በማሰራት ዘውታሪ የሆነ ምጽዋት ፈጣሪ ዘንድ በነሱ ስም በጎ ስራ ለማድረግ ነው። ባለፈው ክረምት ኢትዮጵያ ውስጥ በነበርኩበት ወቅት በቧንቧ በየቤታችን በቀላሉ የምናገኘው ውሃ ምን ያህል ትልቅ ነገር መሆኑን አሳይቶኛል። ከዚህም በመነሳት የውሃ ጉድጓድ በመገንባት የብዙ ሰዎችን የውሃ አቅርቦት ችግር መቅረፍ እንደሚቻል እሙን ነው።

የትኛውም አይነትና መጠን የሚደረጉ ልገሳዎች በጣም ይበረታታሉ፥ ይብዛም ይነስ። ይህ ክስተት በጣም ስለነካኝ የሆነ ነገር ማድረግ አለብኝ በሚል ይሄንን እገዛ ለማሰባሰብ በተነሳሽነት ጀምሬያለሁ። የአደጋው ሰለባ ቤተሰቦቻቸውና ወዳጆቻቸው በፀሎቴ ዘወትር የማስታውሳቸው ሲሆን እናንተም እንዲሁ እንድትዘክሯችው እጠይቃለሁ። እገዛ ለማድረግ የምትሹ ወገኖች በዚህ ፔጅ በቀጥታ ወይም ደግሞ በግሌ የሂሳብ ቁጥሮች በCashApp አሊያም Venmo መጠቀም ትችላላችሁ። ኢትዮጵያ ውስጥም በተመሳሳይ የባንክ አካውንት የከፈትኩኝ ሲሆን በቀጥታ ማስተላለፍ የሚቻል መሆኑን አሳውቃለሁኝ። ለበለጠ መረጃ ከፈለጋችሁ መልእክት አስቀምጡልኝ።
