Tragedy of Hashmi Family
Donation protected
Brothers Mehdi and Raza Hashmi were victims in a horrific automobile accident during the early morning hours of Wednesday, August 19th, 2020. After working a 14-hour shift to make ends-meat and doing charity work at their local mosque, Mehdi (18) and Raza (13) were traveling home by motorcycle when they were abruptly cut off by an SUV. This resulted in losing control of the motorcycle and being struck by a different car from the oncoming direction. Mehdi immediately succumbed to injuries sustained from the impact and was pronounced dead at the accident site. Raza was thrown more than 25 feet due to the immense impact which resulted in brain trauma, a broken nose, two broken arms, and a fractured rib. He was rushed to the hospital and underwent multiple surgeries.
After 8 surgeries and still many more to go Raza can’t work and the father can only provide food for the family of five Raza needs help to go to India to get the medical help that he needs
After losing his big brother he want to be healthy to help his father, he wants to work.
Raza Hashmi IS my nephew on my sister's side; we are very close-knit family. I speak to him on the phone almost every day to help and advise him as much as I can on academics and life in general.
Raza aspired to become an ophthalmologist. Raza is strong-willed and, like his brother, committed to his academics and doing charity work. Raza has big dreams to do better and make their parents proud.
A family has lost their oldest son and now has to face a future of long-term medical care for their younger son. They are not only facing emotional distress but financial issues as well. Living in a country such as Afghanistan, they have no way of getting health insurance. Additionally, they are not provided access to many healthcare options. Simply living there is an everyday struggle. The loss of one son and the hospital bills for another has become overwhelming and an impossible burden for one family to take on their own.
Any help to ease this immense struggle from my sister and brother-in-law’s shoulders would be greatly appreciated and taken with nothing but gratitude. Funds are needed for, medical bills for Raza’s extensive surgeries and long-term care.
I, Abdul Hakim Sultani, will manage and distribute the funds for my sister and brother-in-law. The funds are needed by September 4/15/2022
