I am editing this old fundraiser because we are in need. Long story short, we need funds to pay for a trafficking survivor's rent.

Hello friends. I have a story to tell you. Six years ago, a friend of mine who has a heart to give hope to trafficking survivors asked me to drive to Boston with her for a court proceeding with a victim who was rescued. "A" only spoke Portuguese. I went, and we got to know each other during the Boston rush hour. The unsurpassed trauma she endured is hard to comprehend. But as God would have it, I was asked to translate the proceedings due to the time limit for the hired interpreter. After a quick background check, I went to a room filled with lawyers and interpreted the horrors she endured at the hands of her abuser. Those of you who know me personally know I cried with her... and this experience changed me. I have been connecting with her weekly for four years. Her suffering surpassed the "labor" hardship (please read the links below), but I will not expose her more than needed here. "A's" trauma keeps her hypervigilant at all times; she has a hard time trusting, and I feel privileged that she trusts me.

The non-profit that received donations for her rent closed in November. Some of you may have seen former fundraisers I organized for her and God always provided. A surfing athlete, for whom I was chaplain, donated her 2023 and for part of 2024's rent, which was an amazing blessing and joy! Since the non-profit closed, I continue to try to figure out how to help her once again. "A" is illiterate and does not speak English. She works a bit, cleaning the homes of some angels who pick her up and drop her off each time... but it is not enough to cover all her expenses.

I tried to find other non-profits to receive donations for "A," including some churches, to no avail. Other angels and I have been helping her, but it is not sustainable. So, here we are again, humbling asking for help for her rent.

I know "A" personally. She needs help. Meanwhile, if any of you know a non-profit through which we can raise funds, please contact me. Also, if you speak Portuguese and feel called to invest in someone's life with the love of Christ, please contact me as well. I will gladly introduce you to "A," and she will bless you as much as she blesses me. Thirdly, if you are local and have a need for an elderly caregiver who speaks Portuguese, and you can provide transportation, she would be a great caregiver. She is legally allowed to work in the US because she has a T visa. Finally, please pray for her. Pray for her to feel safe and continue to grow in knowing the God who loves, sees, and cares for her.

I am praying and trusting for a miracle. My Jesus is a God of miracles.
