This GoFundMe page is to help the Stern family of Hastings Florida with financial burdens created by a tragic auto accident that changed their lives forever. The family’s life was tragically impacted on Saturday, June 23rd by someone who ran a stop sign. Tracy’s life sadly was cut short at age 45. Her 10 year old daughter, Kaitlyn, was in the car with Tracy and her husband Charlie. Kaitlyn was flown to the hospital via chopper due to trauma received in the accident. She remains in an induced coma until the swelling in her brain subsides. In the meantime she is on a respirator and feeding tube. Charlie sustained a broken pelvis and femur. It is unknown whether he will be able to return to work as an air conditioning tradesman due to his injuries. Tracy’s oldest daughter Allison, 19, was fortunately not in the vehicle and spends her days supporting her Father's recovery.
Tracy Stern was a wonderful Mother, wife, sister, friend, and awesome coworker at Florida Power and Light Co. Tracy worked for FPL in the Cable Locations Department for 20 years. She was admired by her coworkers and peers for her strong desire to meet customer needs and unending drive for perfection. She was the backbone that kept her coworkers moving forward. Tracy always had a smile for everyone and an infectious laugh. Her passing has impacted her coworkers and she will not be forgotten.
Tracy's sister Dawn describes them as, "a very close family of four who always put family first including extended family. Tracy was everyones rock and was loved by all. She would give you the cold hard facts, and then hug you and help you figure out how to handle it. They will do anything to help any one. They are hard working, loving, and good people."
The following excerpt was discovered in Tracy's computer after her passing and she lived by these words. She will be deeply missed by all.
"Work for a cause, not for applause
Live life to express, not to impress
Don’t strive to make your presence noticed, just make your absence felt"
