Tracy's Journey: Healing and Hope

On Sunday, April 27th, my mom, Tracy Morrin, was in a very serious car accident due to no fault of her own. Tracy was coming home from work after working afternoon shift at a local nursing home. A passing car crossed the center line of the road and struck Tracy’s car, head on, leaving serious injuries to Tracy’s body. By the grace of God, Tracy did not sustain life threatening injuries, but her injuries WERE extremely serious along with totaling her car. Tracy suffered a broken neck, which has required serious surgery to repair. She also had a stage 5 spleen laceration and internal bleeding, which has been repaired with multiple medical procedures, along with broken ribs and other injuries. As of today, May 5th, Tracy is finally out of the Intensive Care Unit, but still has to remain in the hospital for an unknown length of time at Marquette Hospital.

Anyone that knows Tracy knows she is a ‘glass half full’ lady. She truly has something positive to say to anyone she crosses paths with, and is the definition of someone who would give you the shirt off their back. She is selfless, giving, and a very positive individual. She is a mother to two adult children, but more importantly, she is a grandmother to 4 grandchildren who depend on her in many ways. She is extremely involved in her children and grandchildren’s lives and consistently demonstrates this with her actions. The thing about Tracy is she does not just have two daughters and four grandchildren— she has MANY. She takes many people under her wing, lending a positive thought, her unconditional love and support, and “granny” hugs to many.

Tracy was currently dedicating her “golden years” to those at a local nursing home, and also her family. Tracy is now in need of community support to help alleviate financial stress during her time of healing. Tracy has a long road of recovery ahead of her; however, we are confident that with great care from medical professionals and her family, along with her strong faith in Our Lord, Tracy will find a new normal with life.
