Dear Family and Friends,
As some of you may know my Dad has been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. He has recently started chemo therapy, he will start by doing six rounds of treatment over the span of 4 and a half months. Unfortunately since chemo makes him sick and takes all of his energy he will not be able to work while undergoing treatment. With medical bills and life expenses pilling up we are reaching out to all of you to help to get him through this tough time.

He was originally diagnosed in 2001 with a slow-growing type of lymphoma but last month it sent him to the emergency room multiple times. Many tests were done and they revealed that it had transformed into an aggressive type of lymphoma (Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma - DLBCL) and that multiple large tumors (one was 6"x10") had developed in his abdomen, creating severe pain & putting lots of pressure on his other organs. The hospital admitted him and started chemo treatments immediately.

Many of you know my dad by his quality work. He is self-employed as a Journeyman Cement Mason and has built many beautiful yards, arbors, fire pits, patios and outdoor kitchens over the past 25 years. In addition to homeowner jobs, he has also done lots of work for area wineries. Others know him through Team in Training and the Leukemia Lymphoma Society (LLS) where he donated his time for 6 years as an Honoree, Mentor, Assistant Coach and Coach teaching and training other volunteers how to raise money to help other Leukemia and Lymphoma victims.

He is the friend who shows up for his friends. His friends call at all hours saying we are having an emergency and he shows up in ten to fifteen minutes. He is the man who shows up for people coming home from a major surgery to install a shower head so they can clean themselves, or to help set up for events or to just fix a garbage disposal.

Now, he needs the help. Since he will be receiving chemo treatments for months he is not able to work. The normal bills, medical bills and travel costs are adding up fast. Unfortunately, insurance never covers everything so there are a lot of costs for the treatment that my dad must pay.

While with Team in Training, raising money for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society, my dad always told everyone that each and every donation makes a difference....no matter how small it may seem. This cancer can be managed after the tumors shrink so we are all looking for a positive end result. We know it is a lot to ask of our family and friends but any help would be greatly appreciated. Please keep my father in your thoughts and prayers!
