Hi everyone,

As some of you may know, my sister Tracy was recently diagnosed, for the second time, with Stage 3 Her2postive Lobular Carcinoma, a form of breast cancer. She’s a fighter, but will need the support of her community in the coming months. Here’s her story, written in her own words.

2020, What can I say I was rocking it at the beginning of the year and had more work than I knew what to do with. Then bang Mid-March it all came crumbling down. No job while the Bar was closed, no tennis, so I headed up to Minnesota to stay with my sister and got a seasonal job for the summer. While there, we celebrated what I thought was my 6th year cancer free on July 16th. Little did I know at that time, cancer cells were dividing in my breast. In 2018, I had noticed a hard lump in my breast and had it looked at right away. At the time, I was told it was nothing by the doctor of Radiology. I was told it was just dead tissue, also know as “Fat Necrosis,” from my double mastectomy in 2014. At that point I was given the all clear. Fast forward to May 2019 I went in again was told the same thing by the same Radiologist. By November 2019 I decided to get a second opinion by a different radiologist. I was told again that it was “Fat Necrosis,” not to worry. I had an appointment this past April but unfortunately it was cancelled due to COVID. Finally, in August Upon my return I was able to be seen by my doctor. After taking one look at me, the doctor immediately shipped me off for testing She could not believe other doctors were telling me it wasn’t cancer. After an Ultrasound, mammogram, needle-biopsy, I received the phone call - not only is the cancer back, but it’s stage 3. The lump was never “Fat Necrosis.” Next, I met with the surgeon, had an MRI, nuclear bone scan, Echocardiogram, CT scans, Chemo Port and the list goes on. My world is spinning out of control!  On top of everything else, I returned to Texas without a job, as the bars are still closed and there is very little tennis.

Tracy’s treatments are upwards of $200,000.00 for Chemo alone. She won’t finish her treatments by the end of 2020 so her deductibles will reset in January. If all goes well with the treatment, she will have to have surgery in 2021. In addition to the cost of treatment the oncologist highly discourages her returning to work with a weekend immune system and COVID still prevalent

While this year has been difficult for all, we’re asking for help from Tracy’s friends and family to help support her through upcoming treatments. The goal of this GoFundMe is to offset the expenses of chemo, additional treatments, and living expenses while she is unable to work. Thanks for reading Tracy’s story and love to all!
