Tracy Moorman and Family
On Sunday, December 10th, my step father, Tracy, suffered a severe ischemic stroke. They found a blood clot in a rare spot in his brain that caused him to lose blood flow to parts of his brain which caused him to lose feeling in his right side, slur his speech, and caused dysphasia (difficulty speaking/finding words). Up until December 10th, Tracy was one of the most helpful and independent people I know. He prided himself on working hard and hardly ever took a sick day. Though he isn't having as much trouble with his speech anymore, the stroke has left his right side, which is his dominant side, extremely weak. He has to use his left arm to move his right arm most of the time but is able to walk, with the assistance of a person and a cane. Because of this he needs help with almost everything right now. Before Tracy's stroke, my mother, Staci, had just recently had to quit her job and was in the process of finding something else, but now taking care of Tracy has become a full time job between getting him to his therapies, helping him bathe and eat and take his medications and do his stretches. It's pretty much impossible for my mom to go back to work right now until Tracy is stronger, which leaves them in a tough spot without either of them able to work. They have an appointment with legal aid to get Tracy on disability and Medicaid but unfortunately that process takes months. Asking for help is never an easy thing to do. But between neither of them being able to work right now and the medical bills from Tracy's ICU/hospital/rehab stays, things are getting tight, quickly. I know everyone is struggling right now with inflation being what it is but if you have it in your heart to help, our family would be forever grateful. Any money donated will be used towards medical bills and helping to bridge the gap for living expenses until my mom is able to go back to work and Tracy is on disability. If you aren't able to donate, I just please ask you keep my family in your prayers while we continue navigate these difficult times.
