- Hi, my name is Candice Cheney. I'm raising funds for Tracy Gowan's family to help cover his medical expenses. As many of you know, Tracy was diagnosed with colorectal cancer about a month ago. While waiting for treatment, Tracy contracted serious infections which threatened his life and had to be treated before chemo or surgery could be pursued. Last week we were told Tracy has Stage 4 terminal cancer and is in liver failure. This week he was supposed to be at an awards ceremony in Nashville after being nominated for the Lourdes Mercy Award in recognition of someone who "profoundly touches the lives of others." Instead, he has been discharged from the hospital for hospice care. Tracy has impacted so many lives both as a nurse and as a friend. The funds raised will help cover medical expenses not covered by insurance.
