So… we’ve swapped race suits for runners and helmets for headbands.
We’re a group of oval racers who usually battle it out on the track — but this time, we’re doing things a bit differently. No engines, no steel shoes, just trainers, sore legs, and a whole lot of determination.
On 18th July, eight of us will take on a 72km (42 miles) track-to-track run from Tullyroan Oval to Aghadowey Oval. It’s a big challenge, well outside our comfort zones, but one we’re proud to take on.
And because one mad idea is never enough, we’re also running numerous half marathons around the world, as well as the Belfast Full Marathon — all in aid of Air Ambulance Northern Ireland and Evora Hospice.
These charities are there when people need help the most. Air Ambulance Northern Ireland provides rapid, lifesaving care when every second counts. While Evora Hospice offers compassion, comfort, and dignity to patients and families during incredibly difficult times.
Every mile, blister, and early alarm is for them.
This isn’t just about one run either — we’ve more planned that you can get involved in too:
• A 5K / 10K fun run
• And a massive fundraising party night on 21st November, taking place in the Seagoe Hotel
Whether you donate, take part, share the page, or come along to an event, it all helps more than you know. You’re not just backing a group of racers turned runners — you’re helping support lifesaving and life-changing services right here in Northern Ireland.
Thanks so much for the support — now let’s see if oval racers can actually run
