Track My Copper: A Supportive App for WD Patients

Donation protected

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,

My name is Anee, and I’m reaching out to you today with a deeply personal request. I’m working on developing an app called Track My Copper—a tool I wish had existed when I first started my battle with Wilson’s disease, a rare genetic disorder that causes toxic copper buildup in the body. This condition has affected my liver, brain, and other vital organs, and for me, it has had a profound neurological impact.

For years, I lived with uncertainty and fear. I was repeatedly misdiagnosed and told that nothing was wrong, even as my body and mind struggled. It was only after finding the right medical team that I learned the truth: I had Wilson’s disease. Receiving that diagnosis was both terrifying and a relief, as it gave me answers—but the journey since has been anything but easy.

Living with Wilson’s disease is a constant challenge. Every day, I face symptoms that affect my life in countless ways. But in the midst of this battle, I’ve found strength and purpose in something bigger than my own story: the chance to help others. That’s why I’ve poured my heart into creating Track My Copper—an app that will offer essential tools and resources for others living with Wilson’s disease. I want to help them manage their condition and, most importantly, feel less alone in their journey.

About Track My Copper:
This app is designed to provide practical support and peace of mind. Here’s how it will help:

Low-Copper Food Database: A simple, easy-to-use resource with food options and recipes tailored to our unique dietary needs.
Customizable Meal Planning: A tool to create personalized meal plans that align with users’ diets and preferences.
Appointment Scheduler: A feature that syncs with your calendar and sends reminders for doctor appointments and important health check-ups.
Journaling & Mood Tracking: A safe space to document experiences, track moods, and reflect on our personal health journeys.
Emergency Contacts & Medical Alert Card: An accessible feature that provides crucial health information in case of an emergency, ensuring we’re protected when we’re most vulnerable.
Why I Need Your Help:
Developing this app is no small feat, and while I have a vision, I can’t do this alone. I have set a budget of £3000 for development, but the truth is that every penny matters. Here’s where your donations will go:

App Development: This will cover the cost of hiring a skilled developer to build a reliable, user-friendly app.
User Interface Design: I want the app to be simple and welcoming, so it’s easy for anyone to use.
Testing & Quality Assurance: Before the app launches, it needs to be tested to ensure that it’s smooth, reliable, and glitch-free.
Marketing & Promotion: To reach as many people as possible, especially within the Wilson’s disease community, I’ll need to spread the word.
Ongoing Maintenance & Updates: As the app grows, I’ll keep improving it based on user feedback, ensuring it remains relevant and useful.
Why Your Support Means the World to Me:
This app isn’t just about convenience—it’s about hope. It’s about giving people like me the tools to take back control of our health and our lives. Every donation, no matter the size, will help bring Track My Copper to life and make a real difference in the lives of those struggling with this rare condition. Your support could be the lifeline someone desperately needs to manage their health and feel less isolated.

If you’ve ever felt helpless watching a loved one go through a tough time, or if you’ve personally faced a health challenge, you understand the importance of support. This app can be that support for so many, but I need your help to make it a reality.

Thank you for reading my story, for sharing in my vision, and for considering a donation. Your generosity will directly impact lives, and I will forever be grateful. Together, we can create something meaningful—something that offers hope and empowerment to people living with Wilson’s disease.

With love and gratitude,
Anee (A fellow Wilson’s disease patient)
