Tracey's Breast Cancer Battle

Donation protected
On August 9, 2016 my sister, Tracey Beamish was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in her left breast. At age 39 this disease was a terrifying shock to all our family and friends. Her lump was found through a self examination but was also brought to her attention by her 11 year year old Sheltie, Braiden. He sensed that something was wrong and begun to nudge her and scratch at her Breast.
After a Mammogram and ultrasound it was confirmed that there was a 8 cm tumour present and she would have to take action immediately.
On September 13, 2016 Tracey received a Mastectomy and her left breast was removed. Unfortunately her road to recovery does not end there. She will now have to undergo 6 treatments of chemotherapy over the next 18 weeks, hormone treatments over the next year and radiation. On Wednesday November 9th, 2016 she had her first chemo treatment and has began this intense journey.
Tracey is the strongest and most independent woman that I have the honour to know. She asks for nothing from no one, but even the strongest people need help from time to time. In her 23 year career of over seeing operations for McDonald's, working her way from the bottom to the top, she has never missed a day. With that said having to take at least a year off work, losing a good percentage of her wages and continuing to maintain her home, life and know this Devil of a disease it is time to ask for some assistance.
I have had numerous phone calls and text messages from family and friends asking what they can do to help. GoFundMe seems like the best option. With all the extra expenses that have begun to accumulate... prosthetics, specialty bras, wigs, medications, gas, parking and the list goes on and on.
Tracey is so loved and respected by so many people from friends, family and co-workers. She has supported so many people and causes in our Amazing Community over the years. It's now our turn to help support her.
We are ready to kick this disease in the Ass! With the support from all of you, I know she can not lose this battle. Any donation is greatly appreciated. If the time is not right for you, your love and well wishes are still appreciated just as much.

To all our Girlfriends out there, please pay attention to your bodies. Get your yearly check ups, do your self breast examination, book a mammogram. This disease has no age and no limits.
I do want to note that we are so overwhelmed and grateful for the incredible care and attention she has received from our family doctor, the Woman's Health Center at the IWK, the sunshine room at the VG and the Amazing Nurses, doctors and surgeons. We are truly proud to live in this beautiful Country.

Thank you!!! We Love you all ❤️
