Helping out Grandpa John

John Horton (aka Grandpa John) ( aka old man John), a long time San Diego/Riverside resident ,has spent his life as a loving ,hardworking husband , father , grandfather and friend . As an equipment operator for a union contractor John has worked alongside many men and women.. Working long hot , cold days. Doing construction can wear on even the toughest of people but, every day John shows up to work ,enriching the lives of those around him. John is the type of guy who will share his work knowledge with the newer guy, he’ll share an ear when you need to talk to someone and Johns the type of guy who offers to share his sandwich at lunch. Which is why we want to share Johns story . John being in his sixties started to talk about retirement a few years back . “ After this big jobs over I’m gonna retire “ John would say. John being the hardworker and provider he is always seemed to find another “big job” he’d be working on. “Ok after this next big jobs done “ I’m gonna retire“ . Sure Old man John ! Well John was finally set on retiring at the early half of 2019. Unfortunately something unforeseen happened . Towards the end of 2018 Johns wife Tracey was diagnosed with Cancer . Horrific news for anyone... John a devoted husband , father and grandfather undoubtedly felt the pain of such an all too common heartache. Like all those affected by Cancer as friends and coworkers of John we felt his pain. John continues to work and be a blessing to us and his wife Tracey and Grand Daughter who he supports . As Tracey’s treatments begin , we all decided that perhaps as friends of old man John maybe we could find a way to give back to someone’s who’s giving so much to us. With Johns retirement paused, as he continues to work, and be there for his wife Tracey, we ask if possible to please donate to help John offset the unforeseen cost that will follow forTracey’s treatments and time John might miss from work.
