Support for Joey and Lisa.
Our Trace3 Team Members
We say our people are what makes Trace3 special, and while that often shows itself in the performance of our organization, it always shows itself in our ability to care. We consistently offer a hand when most needed, and bond together to ensure no one stands alone. Further, when these moments involve some of our own, we truly show our spirit.
Having already endured a formidable year of family illness, sibling team members and Lifecycle Service representatives Joey and Lisa Benway now face a challenge that reveals both the fragility and humanity of our existence. In 2015, Joey was diagnosed with IgA nephropathy, which limited his kidneys’ ability to function properly. Unfortunately, this disease has progressed to end stage renal disease as of two months ago. Joey is now on a kidney transplant list and seeking a new kidney before dialysis is required.
In response to her brother’s predicament, Lisa has gone through the arduous testing process and qualified as a donor match at a crucial time in Joey's progression. She is donating one of her kidneys to Joey in the coming days.
The impending scenario offers both risk and gift to Joey and Lisa. The risk is obvious, but to Joey, his lifeline is the gift. To Lisa, the gift is opportunity. Please keep them both in your thoughts and prayers and if you’d like to donate to their cause as expenses are tremendous, please go to the link below for further information.
Both Lisa and Joey reside in Chicago, IL, where they are currently preparing for this life-changing moment. Our ask of the Trace3 team is to show why Trace3 is defined by our people. We care, and we continually strive to prove no one is alone navigating their challenge.
Thank you all.
