The Smith Family

It comes with sad news that we are establishing this gofundme for Aaron, Jess and their family. The love and support that family and the community has given them has been a blessing that has helped them through the rollercoaster of ups and downs they've had to deal with since Aaron's cancer diagnosis. As of last week (November, 8th), Aaron was placed in hospice care at home as the cancer continues to spread and has impacted the functioning of his liver and kidneys.

Some background on the Smith family:

Aaron is the loving father of three kids - Wyatt, Sadie and Josie and the husband to Jessica. In June of 2022, he received the shocking diagnosis that he had non Hodgkins lymphoma. Over the past year he has had various chemo treatments , radiation, CAR T cell transplant, immunotherapy…none of which was able to defeat his cancer. As a result of treatment, he also had to have surgery and various procedures to deal with the side effect including sending him into liver and kidney failure. He has been in and out of the hospital more times than any person should have to endure (a positive that came from that were all the friends that he made and cheered him on along the way!).

Throughout it all, he stayed strong and kept a positive outlook.

Based on the outpouring of support for the Smith family and after many inquiries from the community about how they can continue to support or donate, we are launching this gofundme page.

Funds will be used for medical expenses and as needed to support the family in their time of need.

I hope you will consider donating to a man who has given so much of himself to our community. A great father, husband and friend to so many - 'take me home, country roads'...
