As most of you know, in the early morning hours of May 4th, Stanley and I received a call that no parent ever wants to receive, regarding our eldest son, Devon. I won’t get into details, but he had God on his side and miraculously survived. He’s got a long, painful journey ahead both physically and mentally.
Our family flew up to be with him as soon as we possibly could: his dad, myself, and his siblings. Devon isn’t wanting any help financially, as he says the accident is his own doing, but we are reassuring him that he is loved and deserves all the love, help, and support that he can get. He’s already asking to go back to work!
But Stanley, who is the sole breadwinner of our family, has had to take time away from work, and with Devon’s follow-up appointments, we are unsure when we’ll be able to return home to Hawaii. With the major trauma to his sinuses, we aren’t even certain when he will be able to travel.
We are so grateful for friends and family who are offering us support, giving us a place to stay, feeding us, offering vehicles… it’s been a blessing! I understand if you aren’t able to help, I hate to even ask, but life must go on and the bills need paying even in times of crisis. Please feel free to share, we love and appreciate all of you, if anything please keep the prayers coming for Devon’s full recovery.
