Bring Mikey Home!

Mike is the most loving husband, father, son, brother and the best of friend anyone can ask for.  We are all so lucky to have him in our lives!

Most of you have learned by now that on April 19th, Mike suffered a heart attack while rocking his newborn son to sleep. Luckily, Brooke was in the room and able to immediately perform CPR. Upon arrival at Kettering Medical Center, Mike survived the insertion of two stents before he took a turn for the worse and his organs began to shut down. The following morning Mike was transferred to Christ Hospital in Cincinnati and is currently heavily sedated on ECMO life support and requires a triple bypass or possibly a full heart transplant. At this point it is still unknown if there was any permanent cognitive damage.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Brooke is unable to physically be there to support Mike and cheer him on through his fight. Brooke and Mike have 5 beautiful children, with their youngest only 2 months old. They all need their Daddy, and Brooke needs her best friend to come home. 

Understandably, this sudden tragedy has left Brooke and the kids in complete shock. Mike is loved by so many and Brooke has been overwhelmed by the amount of love and support over the past few days. Thank you for all your kind words and ongoing prayers. She would love to respond to each and every one of you and will use this platform to provide updates on Mike’s health.

With Mike being the primary financial provider for the family, Brooke anticipates the financial burden to be significant through his recovery. In attempts to alleviate their struggles with medical bills as well as the simple day to day costs of raising five children, the family has created this GoFundMe page to allow individuals to assist Brooke and Mike during their time of great grief and recovery. 

Mike faces a long road ahead of him, but with all of our support we know he can overcome this. Family is everything to Mike and Mike is everything to our family. We kindly ask that you please help us in any way you can.
