TR Sanchez Funeral and Family Support

Hello Everyone. We are heartbroken by the loss of our father, Trinidad “TR” Sanchez.

TR was born and raised in a small town named Cebolla in Northern New Mexico with his three sisters and three brothers. Dad volunteered, like his brothers, to serve his country in the US military. He enlisted in the United States Air Force where he achieved the Good Conduct Medal and an award of Marksman. He served as a medical service specialist until he was honorably discharged in 1959. He then worked for the US Postal Service in Roswell, NM for a brief time where he met his love of a lifetime, Esther. They were married soon thereafter. They had six boys and twelve grandchildren.

Esther lost her battle with cancer in 2013. TR remarried in 2018 to Reina Rapalo. He moved his family to Houston, TX where he lived until his passing.

Dad started his government security career in 1961 at Los Alamos, NM and then with DOE in Albuquerque, NM. He moved his family to Amarillo, TX in 1975 with DOE Transportation Safeguards Division and back to NM in 1984. Dad retired from federal service in 1992. He then worked with the OST contractor transportation utilization program from 2005 to 2009. He retired with 40 years of service to his country.

Dad loved his family, his faith, and his country. He was a mentor to many throughout his life. Many have said, “He was a good man” and “The kingdom of our Lord and Savior has gained a great servant.” All of us will miss him greatly and will cherish the great memories of hunting and fishing trips, pistol matches, baseball games when he was coaching, and vacations to Washington, DC. If you can imagine eight people in a station wagon from Albuquerque, NM to Falls Church, Virginia, just to name a few.

Many thanks to all the friends and family that loved Dad, made him laugh with joy, and called him a friend. He’s in a great place now with his Lord and Savior.

As we honor Dad’s memory and last wishes, we request that in lieu of flowers, please consider contributing to the GoFundMe for funeral expenses and to support his family in Houston. Contributions and sharing of the GFM link are much appreciated. Thank you for your kindness.

Respectfully,
Bobby Sanchez - eldest son
