Our Dirtfoot banjo pickin all around amazing guy J Bratlie has been really fighting against the odds for a long time and needs our support now more than ever. J not only has been fighting Crohn's disease for years but is also now battling Ankylosing Spondylitis (aka AS disease).
After spending months in unimaginable pain trapped in an awful cycle of not being able to eat anything without throwing it back up, J was admitted into the hospital on 8/20 for a surgery to reduce the inflammation in his stomach. The surgery resulted in the removal of 6 inches of his small intestine. On May 4th J weighed 194 lbs and on the day of surgery he weighed 157. That is a loss of 40 lbs in 3 months.
The removal of his small intestines was successful but J's troubles didn't go away. The Doctor's are trying to make his body work again since J is still unable to eat, in horrific pain, and not getting better. J has now spent more time in the hospital than he expected and they are not sure when he will be heading home
J needs our love and support! J is a piano teacher so due to covid and being on immunosuppressive medications he is only able to teach virtually. This has caused a great loss of students and income.
