My name is Lauren Desrosiers and I live in Folsom Ca. I am a sophmore in high school and I first started riding mountain bikes 6 years ago and have been racing for 5. I got into the sport of cycling when my family would go on rides along the American River bike trail. One day, my dad asked if my brother and I wanted to go ride some local trails that called Granite Bay. I remember that ride being really challenging for me and I couldn't make it up a lot of the climbs, but I had a bunch of fun. After this, I asked my dad if we could fix up my Specialized mountain bike. Once we did, we began going on more rides. In 2010, as a junior, I begin racing a local series at Prairie City in Rancho Cordova, Ca.

In 2011, I moved up to beginner women class and began my first year of middle school and joined the local middle school mountain bike team. I really enjoyed being part of the team. I raced with the middle school teams and in 8th grade I started riding with Cycling Development (local high school teams) and loved it instantly. I loved the challenge of trying to keep up with the highschoolers and being around them and having people to look up to.
Once freshman year came around, I joined my high school team, the Vista Del Lago Eagles and Cycling Development in the Nor Cal High School League. This year I have been fortunate enough be able to race in the Varsity girls division. With the help of one of my teammates and coach, I have become a junior ambassador for Juliana Bicycles, of Santa Cruz Ca.

This has been my first year of racing on the national level and I have learned so much about myself as a competitor and and am eager to learn more and continue my development. The U.S . Cycling Association has just extended an invitation to me to attend a Junior MTB development camp in Ontario, Canada and race two Canada Cup events. I will be honored to race with U.S.A. Cycling and I hope to learn alot while I am there and race alongside some of the best competition in the world in my age category.

This 10 day camp in will be an awesome experience for all of us fortunate to be going, however, it comes with a financial cost. I have set a goal to help offset this and am asking for your help in attending this camp and representing the United States Cycling Association.
Thank you for your support! I cannot thank you enough.
