My name is Jim Rosen. Last April my younger brother John passed away due to complications from shunt revision surgery. John's death was quite devastating to his family and all who knew him. John was a kind soul who touched many people and who was an inspiration to all of us.

To celebrate and remember John, we are producing the John Rosen Memorial 5K and 1 Mile Fun Walk taking place in Vienna, Virginia on October 22, 2016. We are looking for donations to make it possible to have the event. We are not trying to make a profit but need to pay expenses (police department, race insurance, professional event timing, post race food, etc).
Please consider making a donation so we can all celebrate and remember my beloved younger brother. We will need to raise enough money to stage the event by the end of May, 2016 so we can pay our expenses.
John was an active person despite his handicap. He was a kind soul with many friends and a genuine person who sincerely cared about others. He never complained about anything despite his many complicated and painful surgeries. He showed up for life everyday. Always smiling, John was an active participant in his church community as well as loyal worker at his job.
Bringing all of John's friends and family together for this event will help honor his memory and help with our immense grief. John and I were very close and I miss him every day. Thank you you so much for any donation you can make.
