Hello, we are the Archuleta family and we are the kids of Richard Archuleta creating this for help in the most hardest time of our lives. Our father has been battling Parkinson's disease for the past 3 years he was at stage 5 of Parkinson's limited mobility, slurred talking, and trembling. We are originally from Colorado but moved to California for better opportunities. Our dad stayed in Colorado as we made this journey to California. Unfortunately this was most likely when the early signs of Parkinson's started. Eventually we got a call and it was our dad asking for help and he wanted to move to California.
Getting the phone call from our dad 3 years go to go get him from Colorado was life changing. Living with his Parkinson's disease day to day was a journey and our hearts go out to any family dealing with the same struggle we are. Our dad was a proud Arborist who loved his profession and nature. Faithful man and a love for his family most of all. He was proud of his time he did serve in the military and encouraged his kids to strive for the best and showed us everyday what hard work and dedication can get you. He had the most amazing soul and always stayed true to Colorado and home.
Unfortunately, on Saturday June 1st, 2024 he went into cardiac arrest and was transported to St.Joseph hospital in Stockton, CA. Over the past couple of days we have had to make the most difficult decisions of our lives. As stated by his doctors, the neurological damage that he suffered is irreversible and he is unable to recover. He is currently on life support and his wishes were to not stay that way. With no brain activity we have made the difficult decision to take him off the life support, as he would've wanted. He will be at rest and is finding peace. We will be taking our dad back home to Colorado and we ask for any support in getting him there. He was a great dad and overall amazing person! We are asking family, friends and anyone who can help during this difficult time. Parkinson's disease was taking a toll and though it was a difficult battle he fought long and hard.
