Caiden’s Recovery & Surgery

This GoFundMe is being created by the parents of Caiden Conrad, 9 years old. Funds will be split between us traveling back and forth to and from the hospital, as well as any medical bills that will not be covered by Caiden’s insurance.

This week has been a very eventful week and we are asking for prayers as we go through this difficult time. Caiden wrecked his electric scooter Sunday June 14th in the road. He hit the back of his head on the concrete and passed out. He doesn’t remember even going outside or what exactly happened. We rushed him to the hospital and eventually he was transported by helicopter to Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital. He has a concussion, skull fractures, as well as a small brain bleed. He has been very out of it. We are currently in the ICU as they monitor him closely. Please pray for our boy ❤️

Update June 16th: they have seen a narrowing vessel in the brain that worries them of clotting. They are slowly giving him blood thinners to prevent clotting, but there is a worry that this could also cause more bleeding. He has been very out of it and only wanting to sleep. Today they had him walk a few steps, and had him sit up in a wheel chair for 30 minutes. As of now he has not eaten anything since Sunday morning.

Update June 17: Caiden still has not eaten since before his accident. He walked around a little bit in the hallways with some help today and also had some fun wheeling around in the wheel chair. The scan today looked the same, there has been no additional bleeding, so they are able to increase the blood thinner. He is still very out of it and wants to sleep a lot. They are hoping to get him out of ICU and into the Special Care Unit possibly today but no confirmation on that yet.

June 21: Today is day 8 in the hospital and as of now we have no estimate as to when he will be able to come home. The most recent scan looks worse than the previous scans. Caiden is getting very depressed about still being here and is having a hard time. It’s so heartbreaking to see him like this. Please continue to share his GoFundMe wherever you can, as we need all the help we can get right now.

June 22: Today’s scans show fluids in his brain are still increasing. So he will be moving back to the Special Care Unit at some point today. They are stopping the blood thinner and will do another scan tomorrow.

June 23: Today’s scan was worse, so Caiden will be going into brain surgery sometime between 2pm-6pm today. Please send all the prayers

Any donations, thoughts, and prayers are appreciated so much. We are so thankful for all the help, support, love, and prayers we have received. ❤️
