In hopes for a new wheelchair

Hi there, im Niko! im trying to raise money to be able to buy a new fitted wheelchair for my partner, Rose.

Shes recently become disabled due to FND, which causes her problems like seizures, numbness and vision problems. Sadly because of this, shes gone from being super active in life, to struggling to walk unaided.

Before her disabilities reared their heads, she was incredibly active, always out trying to befriend pigeons like a little weirdo, and helping whatever animals she could. At one point, her cats caught a baby bird, and even though it was going to die, she spent 2 hours trying to nurse the bird like a little Snow White. When she wasnt at home, she was the teachers pet in college, and was going on to do her art degree. She would spend pretty much her entire time doing art, painting on her walls, doing pieces for her portfolio, and volenteering. Sadly life is not so kind, and she ended up in a DV relationship. This was then the catalyst that triggered her disabilities becoming visible.

When we moved in together, after she left her DV ex, we would go on walks, collecting bones and shiny rocks, collecting plant clippings for her to grow. Before i knew it, our house was FILLED with little projects. She even managed to grow potatoes in our cupboard after forgetting about them, and then started watering them like a weirdo. Sadly, projects we started never got finished because she started shaking when walking, and then the seizures started.

One issue led to another, and we had to get a basic wheelchair. Sadly, the nhs didnt do squat. They kept telling her the difficulties were due to her being a little plus sized, and never listened to the fact that the reason she'd gained weight was because she couldnt walk, because she was in too much pain and tremouring, not the other way around.

All the resources we had access to just kept denying help. Over and over, we've tried. She had a diagnosis from a doctor one monent, and then they revoked it because she was "too young to be disabled". This has sadly been our reality, constantly dismissed, because we're 2 young adults.

I dont want Rose to be stuck in the house, i want her to be able to go out, get back to doing the things she loved. I want to see the spark in her eyes whenever we go to a gardening shop. Shes a little kleptomaniac for plants. With the chair we currently have, its not possible.

The current wheelchair we have has seen better days, and its been through the ringer of all disasterous situations. Its not fitted, its wheels are too low for her to self propel, and its hell to steer and brake. I want to be able to afford a fitted wheelchair, one that Rose can actually propel in. I want to get her a chair thats hers, a chair that can become apart of her, and give her the freedom back that her disabilities have taken.

I feel less of a man because i cant provide this for her, because simply put, the economy is shot, and im ashamed to be asking for your help, a stranger. I only ask because every resource has failed us, has failed someone who had a real shot at life, someone who had happiness, someone who has already been through hell.

I only ask, if you can donate, then please do so, but if you cant, thats okay too. Everyday, money becomes tighter for everyone, so even if a share is all you can do, i greatly appreciate it.

Thank you for reading, and i hope you have a good day, a day of happiness in a world of darkness.
