Maryah’s medical expenses
Don protégé
We just found ourselves at a long road to recovery for the baby of our family. At 31 years old, Maryah has officially been diagnosed with AML Leukemia and is about to start her first Chemotherapy treatment. We’re hoping and praying that her treatment will put the cancer in remission.
About two months ago Maryah was feeling fatigued all the time and it progressed into loss of appetite and nausea. She went to the doctors and the bloodwork showed that there was some issues with her blood cell counts and her doctor sent her to the ER to receive her first transfusion which helped temporarily with her levels. After many doctors visits, referrals to a few different specialists and finally an air lift to Reno, the doctors all started to agree that it looked like leukemia and that she needed a bone marrow biopsy. She was discharged and sent back home and her doctor then had her drive to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, knowing that she’d get admitted and get the treatment she needed there.
Maryah’s husband Jeff has been by her side for this medical journey and she is stronger for it. Witnessing their unrelenting faith through this process has been an inspiration to the whole family. They have two kids, Levi is 2 and Kara is 12. They’ve been staying with family through this, but Jeff is going to start traveling back and forth from Sacramento to Redding, to split his time between Maryah and the kids.
As you can imagine, expenses have been and will continue to pile up for them. Every little bit will help and be greatly appreciated.
