Help Julia Overcome Medical Challenges

Julia is a 32 year old first grade teacher living in Rockwall, TX. If you know her, you know that she is dedicated to the service of others. She spends her days devoted to her students, friends, and nieces and nephews, and she dreams that someday she will become a mother herself. This July, Julia received unexpected news; the repeated medical issues in her reproductive system will affect her ability to have children of her own some day.
In May 2023, Julia went in for her annual women's exam and received news she wasn’t expecting - a mass was detected, and she would need to have emergent surgery to have it removed. Based on the sonogram, doctors originally anticipated the mass was 17cm, but in surgery, they found it to be significantly larger… traveling up her abdomen from her fallopian tube to her rib cage. It was a complex surgery, but they successfully got it removed. During another part of the procedure, the surgeon discovered precancerous cells in her uterus. This was ultimately resolved with hormone treatments. While it was a difficult few months, she managed to get through it!
At her one year follow up appointment in May 2024, they unfortunately found another large mass on the opposite side of her abdomen. To avoid the financial impact of another surgery, Julia opted to begin a hormone treatment in an attempt to shrink the mass, but after 12 weeks of treatment, she learned that she will need to have another surgery to have it removed. The OB surgeon warned that repeated surgeries on the reproductive system could damage the number of healthy eggs in her ovaries, reducing her chances of conceiving a child in the future. This doctor recommended Julia consult a fertility specialist to further understand her fertility options and the impact of these surgeries.
Upon visiting with a fertility specialist, blood work and other testing confirmed an abnormally low egg count. This meant she would need to have her eggs frozen in the immediate future if she wanted an opportunity to have a baby of her own one day. As you can imagine, the news of this new fertility journey has been heartbreaking for Julia, who has always wanted to be a mother.
Julia has done everything she can to make ends meet up to this point, but the financial burden of the medical issues has become too great for her to take on alone. This GoFundMe was started by her best friends to help alleviate the financial burden she is currently experiencing. These funds will go directly towards the cost of upcoming medical challenges and paying for debt already accrued. If you aren’t able to donate at this time, Julia would appreciate you praying for her and sharing her story, as well as monitoring and advocating for your own reproductive health. Thank you so much in advance for helping!
