Hello everyone!
My name is Christian Perez. I have been given the wonderful opportunity to be a part of the 2015 Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps! It has been a long-term dream of mine to march with the Phantom Regiment and it is finally coming true!
For those who do not know, Drum Corps International (DCI) is a non-profit youth organization for the performing arts. Similar to marching band, but there are no woodwinds and it takes place throughout the summer. Members are aged 21 and younger. There are numerous groups around the country that participate, with Phantom Regiment originating from Rockford, Illinois. Every summer these groups compete across the country leading up to the finals competition . The Phantom Regiment have been a World Class finalist for the last twenty years and took the championship title in 2008. I am truly lucky to be a part of this internationally renowned organization.
I am currently a full-time student at VanderCook College of Music, working to become a music educator. By being a part of this organization, I will have the opportunity to receive outstanding instruction from a well-known staff, tour the United States, and meet people that share the same passion that I do. This experience will promote life lessons such as: dicipline, perseverance, and collaboration. I will be able to take these lessons and instill them in my future students. Everything that I take away from this experience will assist me in becoming the finest music educator I can be.
One of my responsibilities as a member of the organization is to pay a tuition of $3200. This will cover everything from food, uniforms, equipment, instruments, housing, and most inportnatly, transportation. This summer our organization will take part in over 30 competitions, traveling nearly 15,000 miles coast to coast over a period of 70 days.

ANY donation, big or small, will help me tremendously in achieving my dream of being a member of The Phantom Regiment. I greatly appreciate all the support that I can get! Thank you so much!
