February 7 started off as every typical day does. Lauren was at work as a medical assistant. A number she didn't recognized called her cellphone several times in a row. She asked her boss if she could step away to answer her phone. Stepping into a private area to take the call, a familiar voice was on the other line. It was her doctor. He began the conversation by asking her to sit down, Lauren's heart sank to her stomach. He proceeded to tell her she has stage 4 cancer. Lauren dropped to her knees with tears in her eyes. It didn't seem real, there must be a mistake. She got off the phone with her doctor and began to pray. Asking God for strength she went to her boss to ask if she could head home to share the news with her husband. Upon arriving at home her husband held her tight as they cried. She started chemo right away but was told in April her cancer is terminal and she has less than a year to live. Imagining what life would be like for her two girls growing up without her, she was devastated. After searching for trials, treatments, and answers, Lauren found a treatment center with many success stories. Now she needs your help raising the funds to get the treatment offered at New Hope Unlimited.
