Hello everyone,
My name is Althea Thompson, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart and a deep sense of hope. Recently, Hurricane Melissa struck the island of Jamaica, leaving behind devastation that has shaken countless families. Many people have lost their homes, their belongings, and in some cases, their only means of survival.
I was born and raised in Jamaica, and even though I may not be there right now, the island will always be my home. Seeing the images and hearing the stories from family and friends has been heartbreaking — mothers struggling to feed their children, elders left without shelter, and entire communities trying to rebuild from the ground up.
My goal with this GoFundMe is simple yet powerful:
Provide food and clean water to families who are going hungry.
Help rebuild homes for those who have lost everything.
Bring hope to people who desperately need it right now.
I’m asking for your help to raise $5,000, which will go directly toward purchasing essential supplies — food, building materials, clothing, and other necessities. Every single dollar counts, and even a small contribution can help bring comfort and stability to someone in need.
If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser with your friends, family, or social networks. Together, we can make a real difference and show the people of Jamaica that they are not alone in this recovery.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your kindness, compassion, and generosity.
Let’s help Jamaica rebuild — one meal, one home, and one act of love at a time.
With gratitude,
Althea Thompson
