TPLO surgery for tizzy!

Hi, my name is Gracie and we are trying to fundraise to be able to get our beautiful black Labrador her TPLO surgery.

Tizzy is a happy, bouncy, healthy 8 year old Labrador! You wouldn’t think she’s 8 with how full of life she is. She was purchased with a purpose as an autism assistance dog for my brother, however even though she didn’t fully qualify for this (as she was a little too cheeky) she still helped hugely around the house and out on her walks! She truly makes everyone laugh every day with her antics!

Unfortunately, in November 2023 Tizzy became lame after attending her favourite hoopers classes. We seen many vets, but they all misdiagnosed her and sent us away with pain relief and told us to crate rest her. With a lot of crate rest she no longer showed any sign of lameness. In February 2024, tizzy attended her first physiotherapy session. This was going very well, she was building strength and was managing small on lead walks. We were managing her in and out of the house to prevent her doing any more damage. At the time she was doing physiotherapy and hydrotherapy. However, in August 2024 she had a relapse as she ran in from the top of the garden at full speed and by the time she reached the house she was non weight baring. We sent her for X-rays which confirmed a full canine cruciate ligament rupture on her left hind leg.

Since then she’s been under strict management to prevent her doing any more damage and lots of crate rest. We have been trying to get the costs together, but with the cost of living this has proven to be tricky. Tizzy is also unfortunately not insured. This has been very tricky as we just want our beautiful girl back to her usual self, but until she has the surgery she will be unable to. She has so much love to give to everyone and we want to be able to give her the best possible treatment we can!
