Hi everyone,
My name is Emily and I am posting this in hopes of raising funds for my dog Sandy who is in need of surgery.
She’s an 8-year-old Great Pyrenees/Caucasian Shepherd/Lab mix and my best friend. We live on an acreage so Sandy loves being outside and is very active. Since becoming an adult, she’s grown into my adventure buddy, going on camping and road trips with me.
Recently, Sandy tore the ligament in her hind leg (the cranial cruciate ligament, similar to the ACL in humans). Since the tear and diagnosis, she has been on pain medications and resting. Watching her struggle has been hard, especially with how much she loves being active and outside.
Surgery is required to stabilize the knee joint, especially since she is a large dog. The procedure, known as TPLO surgery, is expected to happen 2 weeks to a month from now, but we are still waiting on a date. The estimated cost of the surgery is $5,500, with spendings already toward the diagnosis and current medications.
I’m a full time university student working towards becoming a teacher, while also working part-time. Unfortunately the cost is more than I can manage on my own right now. I’ve been discussing this with others, trying to create a plan and solution, and several people recommended that I try sharing Sandy’s story on here.
Any donation, share or kind thoughts and prayers would mean the world to me and help make this situation much more manageable. Everything raised will go towards Sandy’s surgery and related medical costs so she can get back on her feet.
Thank you for your time and support. I appreciate it ❤️
