Bad luck comes in threes? Eric suffered a heart attack, which triggered a stroke, which then caused an accident, as he was driving at the time.
Eric's van was totaled in the accident, but insurance will not pay to replace it because, due to finances, the van had only comprehensive insurance, which does not cover collision.
Even worse, Eric was about 60 days into a new job, so he is not eligible for insurance or disability through his employer -- a stroke and heart attack and no insurance coverage! Eric is going to be out of work for some time. The accident and stroke caused blood clots in the brain, so the heart surgery he needs has to wait until he's a bit stronger and the clots have dissipated, about 4-8 weeks.
