Support Brandon's Fight Against Cancer & BrainCyst

Dear Friends and Family,

On February 17, 2025, my partner, Brandon Maxwell , received the heartbreaking news that he has been diagnosed with testicular cancer. Just one day later, on February 18, 2025, he underwent surgery to remove the affected testicle. Unfortunately, the news didn’t stop there—he was also informed that the cancer had already spread to his chest.

As if this wasn’t overwhelming enough, Brandon will be unable to work for at least a month while he recovers from surgery and begins chemotherapy and other treatments. He has been working as a server at The Standard for the past 8 years and is also the music director at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church, a position he’s been proudly holding for 3 years. He is a Belmont University alumni who has been chasing his dream of becoming a full-time musician, all while still paying off his student loans.

Sadly, Brandon currently does not have insurance, which means that he is facing the full financial burden of his medical bills, treatments, medications, and ongoing care. He’s been dedicated to building his career in music and serving his community, but now he needs our help.

We’ve created this GoFundMe campaign to help alleviate some of the financial strain and cover the mounting costs of surgery, treatments, and hospital bills. Your generosity will allow Brandon to focus on his recovery without the constant worry of how he will pay for his care during this challenging time.

 El 17 de febrero de 2025, mi pareja, Brandon Maxwell, recibió la desgarradora noticia de que le habían diagnosticado cáncer testicular. Tan solo un día después, el 18 de febrero de 2025, se sometió a una cirugía para extirparle el testículo afectado. Lamentablemente, la noticia no terminó ahí: también le informaron que el cáncer ya se había extendido a su pecho.

 Como si esto no fuera lo suficientemente abrumador, Brandon no podrá trabajar durante al menos un mes mientras se recupera de la cirugía y comienza la quimioterapia y otros tratamientos. Ha trabajado como camarero en The Standard durante los últimos 8 años y también es el director musical de la Iglesia Bautista Misionera Progresista, un puesto que ha ocupado con orgullo durante 3 años. Es un alumno de la Universidad de Belmont que ha estado persiguiendo su sueño de convertirse en músico a tiempo completo, todo ello mientras sigue pagando sus préstamos estudiantiles. 

Lamentablemente, Brandon actualmente no tiene seguro, lo que significa que enfrenta la carga financiera total de sus facturas médicas, tratamientos, medicamentos y atención continua. Se ha dedicado a construir su carrera en la música y servir a su comunidad, pero ahora necesita nuestra ayuda.
