I am updating the overall story so you don't have to read throught the whole site to get the most up to date info:
Ten months ago I started this campaign to support my friend and colleague through her fight against cancer. Lisa Guss was diagnosed with a rare form of cervical cancer in September 2016. She began chemo and radiation therapy and was given positive results in the early part of 2017. As it turns out, Lisa's fight isn't over.
She just learned that the cancer has now spread to her abdominal cavity and lymph nodes. Surgery is not an option at this time and she is starting another round of chemo, including a trial medication. Her long term prognosis is undefined but she has hopes the treatment will sustain her life with her family over the next five years while being able to keep her dignity.
Once again the added cost of travel and lodging will be financially difficult for her and her family while she attends medical treatments. Lisa is unsure of her ability to continue working. All of the money donated to Lisa would go towards living and travel expenses and allow her partner to take some time to support her in this fight again.
I am urging you to donate and support Lisa and her family through this . She deserves the chance to fight this disease with every effort she is able to put forward without the worries of money. Any donation or well wishes are much appreciated and will help to lift Lisa's spirits further.
As Lisa said today:
