Hi there! My name is Toya (he/they) and I'm fundraising to get top surgery, hopefully within the next year.

I’ve been openly transitioning for the past few years and have reached a point where getting top surgery is a necessary next step towards me living comfortably and happily in my body. I’m asking for support & help from my community and friends in reaching my goal to fund this surgery, as I’m uninsured and am unable to receive this type of care from the VA, where I receive the majority of my healthcare.

I received a surgery quote of $8.5K, including a $1.5K deposit to schedule the surgery. The cost of the surgery must also be completely paid at least 2 weeks before surgery. At this time, I'm aiming to fundraise enough to cover the cost of surgery & travel, while attempting to save enough on my own to cover additional costs as they arise.

I'm grateful that as a disabled USAF Veteran, my necessary bills, including rent, will be covered by my monthly disability check during my recovery. However, during my recovery, I will be unable to work my full-time job as a Barista for 2-4 months, which pays for my costs of living including; groceries, transportation, pet care for my 3 cats, and my monthly debt payments.
