Toya Our Sickle Cell Warrior Won

This GoFundMe account is being set up to raise money for LaToya “Toya” Jackson-Whitehead, scholarship fund. As many are aware Toya our beloved Sickle Cell Warrior Princess won the battle on November 17th 2016. Toya was a huge supporter for bringing awareness to Sickle Cell and helping new parents understand what to expect for their children who have been diagnosed with Sickle Cell.

One of Toya’s many wishes is to provide a scholarship for medical students (i.e. nurses, medical technologist, pre-med, etc) through her Sickle Foundations.  Proceeds from this fundraiser will go directly to LaToya’s foundation in which two recipients will receive a 5,000 dollar scholarship to be paid directly to the school for tuition cost or books. Candidates will apply for the scholarship and will be judge by a panel of medical experts and scholars. The first annual “LJW” scholarship recipients will be announced at the first annual Red-Gala, in which we encourage that you come out in your most fabulous  red assemble for Toya.

Toya was a true fighter who loved hard, dressed fabulous, and loved a bold lip color. No amount is truly never too small to make an impact to carry on her legacy. In fact we are hoping that we get 2000 people to donate 5.00 dollars to reach our goal to help prevent the feeling of a financial burden for such an amazing cause.
