I am reducing the target due to the vets deciding to send charlie home today. I only need to cover what is left of the bill. He will need to have daily check ups at the vets (which I will have to pay for) and is no where near out of the woods yet, but without the funds to cover more treatment, I have had to bring him home.

I never thought I'd be in a position where I'm asking strangers to donate money to help me. I will explain the whole story and what has given me no choice but to ask for help now. I have two dogs mabel and charlie. Mabel we had first and we have always had her insured. When charlie came along I contacted mabel's insurance to add charlie to the policy. I was given a quote and so I asked to proceed with this. My monthly payments went up so I had no reason to believe that charlie wouldn't be covered. On Friday charlie was a little bit sick and off his food slightly so I monitored him for 24hours. By Saturday morning charlie was still being sick and hadn't eaten, drank or had a bowel movement. We went straight to the vets and they seen him straight away. We had 3 possible scenarios, a stomach bug, poisoning or an obstruction. The vets decided to give charlie an injection and some tablets to go home with. If he was no better within 24hours then he was to go back. By 8pm charlie was so dehydrated and couldn't even stand up. I rushed charlie to the emergency vets and they admitted him straight away. They ran loads of tests such as bloods and xrays. This showed charlie had a large obstruction in his intestines and emergency surgery was needed or he may not make it through the night. I gave them the go ahead to operate asap. I phoned the insurance to inform them and make a claim. This is where things got even worse. The insurance told me charlie isn't on the policy so they will not be covering him for anything. Now bare in mind I have phoned these a couple of months back to query if they would cover something for charlie and they never told me then that he wasn't covered. I have taken out a loan and a credit card and have been able to cover £3600 of the vets fees so far. I was quoted £4500 up until now. Charlie has to stay in tonight and tomorrow and they will make a decision then whether charlie is well enough to come home. He has a very rough recovery and isn't out of the woods just yet. I have done everything I can to cover these fees and he is honestly worth every single penny but unfortunately I have completely ran out of funds now. I feel awful asking for the help of the public but please take my word that I would 1000% donate to anyone else who lands themselves in a similar situation. Tomorrow when I go and visit charlie I will ask for the invoices and upload photos of them. I understand some people would rather donate to the vets directly so I will pop the address and phone number at the bottom. Charlie is mine and my kids absolute world and there would never be a time that I would give up on him. I would be so so grateful if people could even donate just £1 to help get him better and back home to where he belongs. This has been truly heartbreaking and I feel for anyone in similar situations.
