At the start of 2025 my Dad was diagnosed with (and treated for) bowel cancer. The treatment he received at Blackpool Victoria Hospital was truly life saving and since then I’ve been inspired by him and my mum to do these events which raise money for Bowel Cancer UK charity. This is in the hopes that more people like my dad can get the same level of treatment and go on to beat cancer for good.
Tour De 4 is an event set up by Sir Chris Hoy, who is currently battling stage 4 cancer, in hopes to rally people together who’ve experienced cancer either directly or through a loved one, and to raise as much money and support as we can for the charity’s which do amazing work in tackling cancer.
The event involves a 56 mile road cycle around Glasgow starting and ending at the velodrome Sir Chris once competed in. I’ll be participating in this event alongside my mum, who is raising money separately for Cancer Research UK, to give back to the charity which supported her Dad (my grandad) in his battle with Stage 4 cancer for the last 5 years.
any donation amount is appreciated.
