As Tough West's racing days came to an end he found himself on a trailer headed from California to Texas. The long trip was very stressful for the big bay three year old and to make it worse he got plural pnemonia on the way. Once he made it to Texas it took a few days for the symptoms to escalate but late on a Saturday night Tough West was rushed to an Equine Hospital. Currently, Tough West is still in the ICU but he is making progress. In the last two and a half weeks he has been faced with multiple chest drains, air vents, oxygen, fluids, ivs, and countless other small things. The vets are happy with the way he is progressing; however, internal abcesses are causing some concern. It has been a long, stressful, journey that is far from over but the big guy is livng up to his name. He sure has been tough! His vet bill is enormous so every share, support, or donation is greatly appreciated. The vets says a full recovery is expected!! Words cannot express my gratitude. Thanks again!!
