This is hard for me to do, but my little family is in need of some help. We have had a hand full of bad luck. It all started back in March when I was unexpectedly laid off from my job after almost 5 years of hard work. There was a HR restructuring and they decided managers were not needed in all areas and decided to dismiss some pretty quickly. This was a shock to me and my family as I have always been a very hard worker and dedicated through work outside the home to provide for my family.
Upon my separation of work, I begin, even before, to search for new employment but it is not as easy as one thinks. During the first month of being home I began feeling stressed and worn out. I thought I was getting sick, low and behold I found out - surprisingly, but blessed, that we are expecting our 4th child- baby girl- Lily Anne. While she is a blessing from up above, it was a great surprise and of course during a time of a great deal of stress, uncertainty, and constant worry.
On top of looking for a job, being pregnant and with a growing belly has made it quite difficult. While many employers cannot discriminate against one being pregnant, I do know this is the main reason as to why things have not worked out as interviews and stares at the stomach have allowed this to be witnessed unfortunately.
During the months, we have struggled, leaned on support of programs and exhausted any means of savings to keep things afloat and our children's life as normal as possible. Derick, my husband, has worked long hours everyday doing intense labor, trying to make ends meet until unfortunately he ended up with a back injury that has now left him in pain and with a pinched nerve that is under doctor's care. This has limited his work greatly leaving us with barely any financial support coming in.
We have never been a family that wants to ask for help, as we have always desired to be the ones to help others, but these past 7 months have been a severe struggle with us looking into a deeper black hole.
If there is any support you all can give us to get us back on our feet, catch up on bills, medical expenses, and keeping the roof over our head, this would be so greatly appreciated.
I know God does not give us anything we cannot handle and that there is a great lesson here. I am praying that through this difficult journey we will be blessed with support needed, a beautiful baby girl in December, Derick's health to be healed with no surgeries or extraneous procedures, and a positive year of 2020 with new employment for me and a family of 6 headed in the right direction with positive vibes.
