Funds for Tyler's Brain Cancer Treatment

Hi, my name is Dakota Miller Zinn (Tyler Acklin's cousin) and I am helping my family raise money urgently for Tyler's Grade 4 glioblastoma treatment/possible cure.

The Backstory of Tyler's Diagnosis:
In September of 2018, Tyler experienced his first seizure, which lead to the diagnosis of a Grade 2 astrocytoma malignant brain tumor at the young age of 28.

Since his original biopsy, and over 4+ years of fighting his tumor, Tyler has endured 4 brain surgeries (one of which was an awake craniotomy), and 6 weeks of radiation in the Fall of 2021 along with a year of chemo medication.

Tyler's last surgery was on 11/11/22 to debulk the tumor that had begun growing again in August 2022. The surgery was successful in removing almost all of it! And he was released 11/13/22.

The news you never want to receive:
On December 13, 2022, a month after Tyler's last procedure, we found out the tumor had completely grown back to more than what was removed during the last procedure in November. This time it was classified as the most aggressive growing brain cancer, Grade IV Glioblastoma.

At the age of 32, Tyler was told that he had maybe 2 months to live- with treatment, 6-9 months to live.

The reality of this being the last Christmas with Tyler sunk in...

Tyler immediately started proton therapy, went back on chemo, and started doing an infusion called Evastin. In January of 2023, he completed his second round of proton radiation and chemotherapy.

Hope for a Cure:
After receiving that news from the doctors, a family friend sent a YouTube video that has since gone viral- Dr. Burzynski has a program in Houston, TX that is “curing” cancer!

So, we are raising funds for Tyler’s treatment due to the FDA suppressing Dr. B’s work and all the funds required to cure his cancer, this will be out of pocket.

The Plan:
Tyler has been approved for the treatment and his first appointment (consultation) is Feb 13, 2023. Treatment can start after that.

This is an 8-12 month treatment that consists of infusing medicine into a port that will be worn for the next year. Tyler will spend approximately 1-3 weeks in the initial process of learning to self-administrate along with other day-to-day routine practices for wellness.

He has an evaluation to check progress 3 months from the start of treatment and we plan to keep everyone updated on his progress.

Our family has done our due diligence and studied reviews along with testimonies. After praying and asking for guidance for our family's next steps and we feel that this is the best chance for Tyler.

The Cost:
The treatment is all out of pocket the program lasts up to 8 months. Our goal is $200K. The treatment costs about $17,000 a month just for the medication alone.

Some might look at this as pie in the sky, or wishful thinking... You are right. But, if Dr. B does have the cure for cancer... what would you pay? And why isn't it available for the masses to benefit from?

Time is of the essence:
Tyler is doing well considering all things, and he is extremely grateful to everyone praying for him. We can't thank you enough for the love and support you have shown all of us throughout this entire process.

So why are we asking for donations now? The simplest answer is: time.

We have been fortunate to not have to ask for additional resources over the last 4 years, but now time is of the essence to save Tyler's life. We need immediate funding for this treatment. Selling our home, getting a loan, etc. all takes time, and that is something we simply do not have right now. This is an urgent request.

We are fully aware we are in "Hail Mary" mode, and we view this opportunity for treatment as not only a patch, but a potential cure and a second chance at LIFE for Tyler.

We feel a sense of hope and peace about our future and have this overwhelming sense Tyler will be healed and we will celebrate.

Nothing is impossible for God and we trust in his plans!

We could have not made it this far without your love, prayers, and support. Thank you for continuing to lift our spirits over and over. We are incredibly grateful for anything you can give to help Tyler have a fighting chance.

Sincerely,

The Acklin Family
