After a series of tough breaks, my grandma, Candace Cooksey Fulton, is struggling and really needs a little help. I'd like to raise $3,000 to get her through this rough patch.

It started with a large dead tree that fell on her car during a storm Aug. 17, in San Angelo. The property manager has not been forthcoming about the complex’s liability, so my grandmother had to file through her insurance and will have to pay the $1,000 deductible Oct. 13.

Since then, Grandma had a skin cancer removal, a root canal, and is going to have to replace a dental bridge.

As if that weren't enough, two weeks ago, she fell and bruised, but didn’t break her ribs. That same week, one of her home assistant clients moved away, cutting the number of hours she’s been able to work by half.

While the medical and dental bills are largely covered by insurance, the absence from work as a home care assistant has been costly. Any funds raised will go toward the insurance deductible and very basic living expenses.
