Greetings - for those who I missed with personal emails and the story behind me and my latest book - this is the Grambo attempting to build my business to get out of the situation I'm in.
Spent lockdown writing this whole book and pulling the images for the extraordinary experience I had being fully involved in the carving and raising of a totem pole at Government House, Victoria, BC. Canada.
Six month photo shoot has led to a beautiful 90 page book brilliantly designed and laid out by David Vaughan.
It turned out to be an amazing story, with a family of famous First Nation carvers who carved a first pole 60 years ago, it was transported to Portsmouth, UK.
A second replacement pole was carved in 2012 in Victoria and this book is the story of the two poles, histories, all the people involved, diagrams, maps, all the details from the tree chosen in a northern island forest to finished in place a year later, plus a complete 'guide' on how a totem pole is carved!
I do not believe anyone has fully photo documented a pole carving from inception to raising before this, or since!
Almost 200 photos, including historical. The book is ready to go to print.
All the funds are for printing and shipping.
The support means everything you guys - I need to get my stuff out of storage and change my view from asphalt, power lines and steel containers to some greenery and birds singing!
