I’m reaching out during one of the most difficult periods of my life. On March 4th, I was involved in a car accident that completely totaled my vehicle. I’m incredibly grateful to have made it out, and I’ve been found 0% at fault but the impact has affected nearly every part of my life since.

Since the accident, I’ve been dealing with severe whiplash and ongoing back pain, which has made it difficult to return to normal daily activities or work. On top of the physical injuries, I’ve also been struggling with a decline in my mental health as I try to cope with everything that’s happened.

Before the accident, I relied on my car to earn income through Uber Eats, so losing my vehicle meant losing my livelihood overnight. Unfortunately, I’m not eligible for income loss benefits because I didn’t work for Uber Eats in the year prior. This has left me without any form of financial support during my recovery.

I’ve been actively job searching but haven’t been able to secure work yet. Last month, I had to take out a cash advance on my credit card just to cover my rent, which has added to my financial stress. I’m doing everything I can to stay afloat.

The accident has also forced me to step down from a dance performance and pause my Yoga Teacher Training program - both of which meant a lot to me.

I’m incredibly grateful that some amazing friends were able to support me with a $500 grocery gift card, which has made a real difference. Right now, I’m mainly in need of help to cover rent and essential bills while I continue recovering and searching for work.
