Total Loss of Home in a Housefire

Our home caught fire on Saturday September 12, 2020 around 3:00 PM. We were all home at the time but thanks to the quick action of our oldest son, we all got out safely. Unfortunately we only left with the clothes on our backs and one vehicle. The rest of our home - including my husband’s truck - is a total loss. We don’t know at this time what caused the fire but we know it started in a storage room inside our carport where our electrical breaker was. We really don’t know where to begin to start putting the pieces back together. While we know our home and its contents can be replaced, the sentimental items cannot be. Our whole lives were in that house. My kids definitely need prayers as this was extremely traumatic for them, especially our youngest son. Chris’ work laptop, the kid’s chrome books, and my laptop (which Luke did most of his work on), school supplies, and everything the kids used for virtual schooling were lost in the fire as well.  This is devastating but I am so thankful for the many friends, family, and neighbors who have asked how they can help us. I’ve been asked a million times about a GoFundMe page and was encouraged to start one. We do have homeowners insurance, but I’m afraid our expenses will surpass what will be covered. Anything you can do to help will be more than appreciated - even if it’s prayers.
