Total Loss of Family Home for 55 years

My name is Stefanie Williams, I am setting this up on behalf of my parents John and Orene Moore. They have lived in this house since 1967, raised their two children, & raised their grandchildren in this home. This house was once a home for the whole community on 16th & Emmet. They used to throw the best New Year Parties on the block! It’s a loss to my family, but also our community. 

This house is over 100 years old, &  registered on the Historic Home listings in Omaha, it was built for the Omaha World Fair originally and later owned by the Omaha Jewelry Company.

Today at 1:30pm I was called by my aunt leaving her home across the street that my parents house was on fire. She literally saved my father and daughter from the fire. They were able to exit with just the clothes on their backs right before the windows started exploding. Everything we once cherished is gone. The fire destroyed the lower levels, all four upper bedrooms, and most of everyone’s personal items. 

The firefighters were able to save a couple family photos, and my parents medication. 

We’re asking for any help possible, even if you can’t financially support.  We’re taking clothing, toiletries, & food donations  (socks, underwear, bras, etc.) The fire is a total loss for my family.
